Hello go to Northfield and along the main drag on the right hand side of the road is a market called one shop and inside there is a really good ink cartridge supplier also all sort of other computor or stationary cheapest i have found.
Cartridge World is amazing. They refill your cartridges cheply and they have good service, (By the way that kitten picture is so cute!)

both are good on compatables
Hi baby cakes, why not try getting them refilled, there are shops that refill your cartridges for you at a fraction of the cost
HP? - you are better off getting rid of it and getting an Epson.... even the original cartridges are about 1/2 the price - the compatibles are peanuts too. DO NOT get a Lexmark - it is cheaper to buy a new printer each time than to get a set of lexmark cartidges!

try online remanufactured cartridge stockists (ink4less, jettec etc..) type: 'compatible ink cartridge' into yahoo search - you'll get loads up. And don't forget your small local stationers - they will quite often offer you a great deal (They are happy to haggle, big companies and online will not!)

olivetti. reasonable price and cartridges are reasonableCan anyone recommend a good printer brand. I've previously used HP and find the ink etc too expensive..?
CANON,EPSON,LEXMARK

These brands are very good and they also have cheap inks.I think tha the lexmark are the cheapest, and they are very good printers.
i have a cannon pixma 14000 and have just bought ink cartridges from morrisons for 拢2.99 for black and 拢5 .99 for three colours .i have never found anything negative against this printer .it prints beautifully.
I have been useing an'; EPSON'; and found the Inks the cheapest of all I previously had a Cannon and they were pricey. My son is now useing a Epson he used a lexmark and found the inks were pricey Epson every time.
look it depends how much you plan to print the reason Cannon and Epson are so cheap is because they do nott include new print heads w/every cartridge so down the road 4 or 5 ink carts the quality starts to degrade and you have to buy a new ink cart/print head which is in the 50 dollar range.

Myself I use to sell printers so I would never buy a cannon. Rpson though gives you alot for the money if you plan on replacing the printer at the 2-3 yr mark. Their printers are $60-$120...and the ink is $15-$25 the only problem is finding their carts....every yr or 2 they make a new version of the 3 or 4 printers out and change their carts which since they are not as popular as the other guys makes you go to an office store to find the ink that may be in short supply.

This is why I would either stick w/ your HP and just get my carts refilled at Walgreens or Offixe Depot $10 to $15 or buy a Lexmark.

When buying a printer ask a couple questions,

1) Does this include full carts or starter ink?

2)How easy is it to find ink? (You want 1 that has carts the #on the cart not the brand name that are sold at Wallmart, Walgreens, etc.)

3)Will I be forced to buy another set of carts to print Photos.

4) Realisticly why am I buying this printer? If it is truely only to print text documents(unrealistic eventualy everyone wants to print some form of color document, cartoon, or picture) then your best bet is to get a low cost Brother all-in-one (cheapest toner) or a low cost HP Laser printer. While both cost around $200 bucks the toner that comes w/ them will get you into the 200 page mark.

5) If you plan on purchasing it to print color pictures HP has the best print technoligy.

6) If you need an all-in-one Lexmark has a modle in the $50 range
I have always used Epson printers. Recently when I needed a new printer my son did research and told me to buy Canon. I bought the Canon 4300. I would highly recommend it. It is a delight to work with and prints professionally.
try going to a walgreens drug store.they refill ink 10 dollars for black,15 dollars for color.
This site look good... http://www.123inkjets.com/ for ink or for printer and ink ... http://www.castleink.com/ .. and just for printer http://www.pcworld.co.uk/ go to explore pc world then click printers ( i know ur not dumb am just tellin u ).
That's the problem with inkjets the ink is incredibly expensive, the print heads become clogged and if you don't use it for a while the cartridges dry out. Try laser, they are now more affordable, Samsung has a model for around $250 and a set color of toners will print about 1,000 pages (2 reams) at 5% coverage, if printing black only the yield is about double that they are faster, quieter, and the toner doesn't dry out.

http://www.officedepot.com/ddSKU.do?leve鈥?/a>
Epson cartridges don't have built in print heads, so that makes them cheaper - especially if you buy compatible cartridges from third party suppliers. Like all other printer manufacturers, Epson will quite happily charge you through the nose for ';original'; cartriges if you let them.

I use third party cartridges. Every time I go to print something the Epson driver puts a message on my screen telling me that I might do terrible terrible damage to my printer if I dare to use anything other than Epson original cartridges. That is tommy rot. The only time I've used their cartridges is the ones which came with the printer, and my printer still works perfectly.

To correct what pete5125 said, Epson print heads are built into the printer, and you couldn't replace them even if you wanted to, short of sending the printer back to the factory. Epson printers use piezo electric print heads, and that makes them more rugged than the thermal print heads used by other manufacturers.

I had a Lexmark before my current printer, and the cartridges cost me a fortune - 拢15 for a teaspoonful of ink. Most Epson compatible cartridges will give you about four times as much ink for between 拢6 and 拢12 depending upon make.

I just cannot believe the comments above about Lexmark cartridges being cheap, unless prices are very different in America.
all ink is expensive, its how they make a profit, hardware is zero profit
Canon printers are the best
first of all dont buy an inkjet printer anymore get a laser one the laser ones may seem expensive up top but they will save u much more money the ink for laser costs 50 dollars but each thing can print up to 2000 pages i woulg get a samsung clx3160fn if i were you
Lexmark
For the most part Lexmark printers have the cheapest ink with most cartridges under $20

They also have out now a multifunction model with a scanner and all that that's under $50 at you local Wally-World.

Hope that helps, and happy printing!

Most HP's do not have an ink level, but in case it does this is how you would get to it.

Pretend you are going to print something. When the printer window pops up instead of printing hit properties.

Along the top of the properties box there should be a tab that says Services. This will lead you to the HP tool box.

Click on the little bod that has the picture of tools.

On the window that now pops up you should have a tab that says estimated ink level.

If there isn't one, then you do not have that feature on your printer.

IMPORTANT: The ink level is just an estimate and will not reflect how much ink you actually have in your cartridge.

When the ink level for the print cartridge is low, a message appears on

your computer screen. You can also check the ink levels by using the software installed with the HP All-in-One. If you not installed this software , insert cd(HP Photosmart C3180 printer) in cd drive and install HP Photosmart software.

If the screen is not coming up, you may want to reinstall your printer software. Can you print your documents now? Also, you can check your inkjet ink printer levels by opening the printer and looking at the ink levels in the cartridges - most ink cartridges are see through so you can see with your eyes how much ink is left in them.

Printer ink generally is pretty expensive. I don't know exactly what

model of HP you have, but a color and b/w cartridge could cost you a

total of 50-60 dollars. Office depot or office max has replacement

cartridges that don't have the HP name on them, but are totally

compatible. You could probably save about 50% if you buy these

It could be 20-40 dollars. Go to the store to make sure. The color cartridges cost more than the black just to let you know. You might also want to buy the inks in packages(black and color together) because I think that it is a bit cheaper.
If you buy new compatible or re-manufactured cartridges, the price is really good, and the quality is very reliable!

With your printer generic ink should not be causing this issue.

If you have a flashing amber light, then the cartridge is not recognising, in which case exhange it.

However with a printer that is just sitting there, with no error warning after printing has a communication problem.

if you have a similar printer, please tell me...How many pages can be printed using one HP ink cartridge??
I work for a company that sells inkjets and lasers. The hp 21 should print about 190 pages. That is the standard page yield at 5% coverage. So, depending on how much you print on each piece of paper. I also had that machine before, and I would print maybe a couple pieces a day, and the ink would last about 3 weeks. Hp has really went down on the size and page yields with these new cartridges, compared to the older hp printers. I bought a lexmark and now my inkjets last about 3 months, same amount of printing. Thanks, LisaHow many pages can be printed using one HP ink cartridge??
Sorry not that easy. Depends on how much ink is used on each page and that depends on how much writing or images use the black ink on the page. A dark image could use a lot whereas a colorful image with little black or no writing would use very, very little, if any.
i have the same printer and i would say that the ink last for five months because i bought my printer in the summer and now in october the ink has finally ran out.

will the ink stay good if it is 2, 3 or 4 years old and still un opened?

Thanks in advanceHow long will un-opened ink for an hp printer last?
Hp's are usually time stamped with an expiration date on the back or bottom of the cartridge. It is usually just over 2 years after the manufacture date. Some cartridges will work beyond that point unless it is smart chipped. How long will un-opened ink for an hp printer last?
This is about how old the ink is before it is sold at you local store.......no reason why it shouldn't last longer. Don't open the plastic wrap and keep it in a ';room temperature'; dark place to limit light and heat exposure and there should be no reason why it shouldn't. I bought extra ink and used it a year later without issues.

Heat would be your biggest enemy as heat will vaporize the liquid and leave you with goo even though the package is sealed
I was wondering the same thing, and is it the same for HP laserjet toner?
    Expiration

If you install the ink cartridge before the “install-by” date, the in-printer-life will be 30 months. If the ink cartridge is installed after the “Install-by” date, the in-printer-life will less than 30 months (example, if installed one month after the “install-by” date, the in-printer-life will be 29 months). Once the ink cartridge has been installed in the printer for 30 months, it will automatically be shut off. This is to prevent potential damage to the rest of the printer’s writing system.

    Warranty

This product is warranted to be free from defects in materials and workmanship during the period of the warranty. If the product is defective, contact HP (or your retailer) before the end of warranty date.

The end of warranty date appears on both the cartridge and the printhead (see Figure 1 below) in a year, month, day format (YYYY/MM/DD).

It is important to be aware of the recommended shelf life of the consumables, in particular the cartridges.

NOTE: The cartridge has a recommended shelf life of 12 months from the date of manufacture.

A label with the manufacture date is placed on the side of the cartridge. HP recommends that cartridges be installed in a printer before the end of the 12 month shelf life. The recommended install-by date can be calculated by adding 12 months to the manufacture date.

Minimize the risk of print head failures:

The reason HP recommends that there is a shelf life for the print head, is to minimize the risk of print head failures during installation, failures that are caused by dried ink residue on the nozzle plate.

In general, the longer the print head remains in storage prior to installation, the greater the chance that dried ink residue will cause missing or mis-directed nozzles during installation.

Reason for recommending shelf life date:

The shelf life of the cartridge is anticipated to be one year from the date of manufacture. However, this is not a hard date. The shelf life is recommended only to minimize the risk of print head failures during installation. If a print head exceeds the shelf life, it is still quite acceptable to install the print head as per normal.
Keep all print cartridges in their sealed packages until needed. Print cartridges should be stored at room temperature 15.6-26.6 degrees C, 60-78 degrees F)

--%26gt; Do not remove the plastic tape covering the ink nozzles until you are ready to install the print cartridge in the printer. If the plastic tape has been removed from the print cartridge, do not attempt to reattach it. Reattaching the tape damages the print cartridge.

--%26gt; When print cartridges are removed from either their sealed containers or the printer, store them in an airtight plastic container (one cartridge per container) or use a print cartridge protector. If you store the print cartridge in an airtight plastic container make sure that the ink nozzles face down.

--%26gt; A print cartridge protector comes with the photo print cartridge.

The install by date is found on the ink cartridge packaging. This date is calculated by adding 18 months to the manufacturing date.

Anyone know how to reset the 'low ink' indication after HP ink cartridge was refilled?

I refilled the black ink cartridge but the HP 4110 all-in-one printer (and the software utility) still show 'low ink' status, do you know of a way to reset this??Anyone know how to reset the 'low ink' indication after HP ink cartridge was refilled?
You can't, the printer recognizes the cartridges. Sometimes if you have 5 older cartridges on hand you can install them, and un install them in order to clear the memory. then hopefully when you install the refilled cartridge the printer will not recognize it and set the ink level to full.

This used to work on older HP, with regards to the newer models I am not to sure if they have increased the memory.

Either way the ink level is just a page counter, you really don't need it. Trust your eye, when the colours start to fade, refill or replace the cartridge.Anyone know how to reset the 'low ink' indication after HP ink cartridge was refilled?
With the newer HP printers, they do not ';allow'; you to use 3rd party cartridges or to refill the cartridges with ink. They force you to use HP OEM replacements
Try unplugging it from the power for about 10 sec. then plugging back in see if that will do it.
In the refill kit you bought it did not have instructions on how to trick the printer. You have to use tape to cover some of the contacts on the print cartridge and install it and then remove the tape and re-install it and it will be full (new ) cartridge. Thanks
On my HP printer, I replaced the cartridge with a non-HP brand, and the utility still shows that I have no ink. Beats me.
After an ink cartridge is replaced most printer software bring up a box asking if you put a new one in or the old one in. If you get this question make sure you say new. If the printer itself has an LED window you may also see a similar message there. If neither is the case I would unplug the power connector for 30 seconds and then check the ink levels after it resets. Good Luck.

How do you override an HP PSC 1610 printer from the States so that it can use UK ink?

In the States it would use HP 94 %26amp; 95. In the UK you can only purchase HP 338 %26amp; 343. Both of these are compatible with the PSC 1610, but I receive an error message saying that I can only use 94%26amp;95. Is there any way I can override this? I am using genuine HP ink. Many thanks. How do you override an HP PSC 1610 printer from the States so that it can use UK ink?
Why not just refill the cartridge? How do you override an HP PSC 1610 printer from the States so that it can use UK ink?
It would take a firmware change. Better just to buy a cheap printer in the UK.

What is the best ink to purchase in bulk to refill the HP 7310 black in cartridge #96?

If anyone knows what type or the source for the most appropriate type for this HP cartridge I would appreciate it. Email me any information at soulpt@netzero.net. Thank you. What is the best ink to purchase in bulk to refill the HP 7310 black in cartridge #96?
Does not really mater where you buy the refill ink, just when you start using it make sure the ink you have not used that is still in a can or bottle does not get bad. that would damadge the printer. Other wise just buy the ink thats for HP on ebay for example.

The numbers are so you identify the correct cartridge that will work in a particle make and model of printer.

Are the HP ink cartridge cartridges 22 and 28 the same?

we had a printer, but it broke. we got another printer that looks almost identical to the old printer, but the inks are different: old is 22, new is 28. but even the cartridges look the same... can we use the rest of the old actridge 22 before using the new 28 on the new printer? because they 22 and 28 look like the same thing...Are the HP ink cartridge cartridges 22 and 28 the same?
Here's a listing of all the printers that are compatible with a 22 and a 28 cartridge. If your printer is on both lists, then you should be able to use either cartridge. However, please note that sometimes the differences are internal or electrical and not readily apparent. Just because the diesel gas nozzle fits into your Mustang doesn't mean you should use diesel fuel.

    HP Black Ink Cartridge Compatability?

Does anyone know if the HP 94 and 98 inkjet cartridges are interchangeable? I have a printer (Officejet 6210) that takes the 94 black and of course the printer took a dump this morning and I have several new #94 cartridges. The replacement (6310) only takes the #98. The cartridges are the same physical size, but the new printer is listed as only taking #98.

Thanks, any help would be appreciated.HP Black Ink Cartridge Compatability?
Sorry, these will not work with you printer -- they have a different electronic signature, and therefore your printer will not be able to recognize them.HP Black Ink Cartridge Compatability?
If you do not have a genuine printer cartridge, simply take the sticker off your previous genuine cartridge and replace the one on your new cartridge. The square code is what the printer reads to determine genuineness. Stick it to the man! Report Abuse

They will not work, they have an electronic signature which will not be regonized by your new printer.

If they are still sealed take them back to where you purchased them, if you don't remember or don;t have the receipt, take them back to Wal-Mart.

Can I use bulk generic black ink that I bought for an HP printer with a Canon printer with no harm to heads?

I had a HP Deskjet 820 and now have a Canon Pixma. I have been using generic cartridges but would like to use a large bottle of black ink I have left over from my HP printer for refilling the Canon but I don't want to damage the printing heads by using the wrong ink.Can I use bulk generic black ink that I bought for an HP printer with a Canon printer with no harm to heads?
no can do.... hp 820 printers uses different type of ink. I'm a refiller myself and found that ink for older models of HP don't work well with new HP cartridge. So much so if you use that ink on the canon pixma models........Can I use bulk generic black ink that I bought for an HP printer with a Canon printer with no harm to heads?
You sure can as long as it's the same ink use photo ink with photo ink, pigmented ink with pigmented ink non pigmented ink with non pigmented ink you won't damage anything. If you use a non pigmented ink where you should use a pigmented ink it will still print but the edges of the fonts will not be smooth.gl
Then don't use it. It is NOT the same ink. It may work but it can also damage printing heads of your cartridges.

I own a Dell A924 printer and i was wondering if anyone knew if HP ink would work for it? Any Clue?

dell inks are actually formulated differently from hp inks. now, lexmark inks would work, as they actually make the carts dell uses.

using the wrong inks can cause issues like leaking or clogging, and could ruin your cartridges.

if you mean, will a hp cart fit my dell printer, that's definitely a no. they're not the same size and could become jammed in the carriage and break the printer.I own a Dell A924 printer and i was wondering if anyone knew if HP ink would work for it? Any Clue?
    NO

Dell would want you to buy dell ink and not HP. There's no way that Dell would have there printers take competitors INK.

Try finding a re-fill store. There are tons of them now a days. I've seen them at malls, strip malls, etc. They have new ink cartridges or they will simply re fill your old ones for less then half the price of a new one.

Re-fills may or may not be as good as a new one. You can try it out and see for yourself.

  • HP ink refill, cartridge wont stop leaking..why?

I bought an ink refill kit the other day and i refilled my HP tricolour ink cartridge that had run out the day before. I've never tried refilling before but i followed the instructions and did everything correctly according to the leaflet. It was done about 20 hours ago and since then i've left it to slowly stop dripping...but it hasn't

any thoughts?HP ink refill, cartridge wont stop leaking..why?
You may have inserted the syringe into to the sponge too deep and damaged it and the ink can't be retained by the sponge inside the cartridge. If it's leaking then it will have to be replaced 20 hours of leaking is not a good sign that it is now usable. The syringe needle only needs to go in to the sponge less that half of it's length. If its not punctured then you have overfilled it with ink as you only need about 3ml of each colour or less in the tricolour HP and once you see ink coming out of the refill hole stop and draw back the syringe to remove the excess ink. If you have overfilled it place the syringe back in and suck the ink back out - you can put the removed ink back into the bottle. If that does not work then you will have to buy a new cartridge as it will leak inside your printer.HP ink refill, cartridge wont stop leaking..why?
i think you have refilled the cartriage more than the limit they have sign on it to fill ii about this level . and may be you dont't see that its ok just make ur cartiage out and clean it again and if possible just remove little ink out . clean it praperly and make sure the cartiiage is closed properly.

just clean the place wher you put the cartiage.

    try once again
Did you replace the label over the top of the re-fill holes? If not put a piece of sticky tape (Sellotape) over them. The holes lead to sponges which hold the ink. If you don't stopper the holes the ink just seeps out of the holes at the bottom due to gravity.
maybe over filled the whole idea of self refils is as cheap as it is effective im affraid

I bought a #93 Hp Printer refill and originally myHp printer came with a #75 ink cartridge. Is there any issue?

I was wandering what the different numbers on the ink cartridges are for. Is it for more detailed coloured printing? And is there any known issues if I used a #93 when the Hp came with a #75 originally? Thank you.I bought a #93 Hp Printer refill and originally myHp printer came with a #75 ink cartridge. Is there any issue?
Typically you have to match the HP cartridge numbers. However you could try to use the #93 HP Ink Cartridge and see if that works.

http://inkjetinkcartridge.net/upcoming.p鈥?/a>I bought a #93 Hp Printer refill and originally myHp printer came with a #75 ink cartridge. Is there any issue?
HP 75 is the right color ink cartridge for your printer.

But if HP 93 can be used in your printer, it seems the HP 93 is compatible ink cartridge, which can be used in a lot of different printers.
well, that cartridge is not designed for your printer. your printer can only take #75 cartridges, and the number has no indicater of the quality.

Had you thought about contacting HP support to find out if the machine CAN print on that surface without bleeding.

Tarpaulin is a plastic woven material, with much coarser weave than paper, so ink WILL bleed into it, unless you use specific inks.

CONTACT HP SUPPORT !!!I am printing on a tarpaulin using HP designjet 5500PS but the ink bleeds, how to remove bleeding?
Open the door where you insert the carts for color in. Take out each one and inspect them. If you got the model where the print heads are in a different conpartment take those out and look for smearing. If you just have the heads and carts for color are one in the same. Then look at the heads and see if you see smearing. It you do?

Take a lint free rag or news paper not a paper towel like Bounty and wipe the heads with cold water just a damp wipe.

Now where the carts/heads rest in the printer it should be a spong or foam. This needs to be wiped also with cold water until it's clean. This is very missy job to do os if you got medical gloves then use them other wise, you've been warned.

Once you done this, then insert the carts back in. Let the printer do a series of test. If you can do a countious printer test where it would print several sheets to clean out anything left over ink that you might have missed.

If it still does it, and you have replaced all the carts. Then have the device serviced or replaced.
