How heavy does an EMPTY HP ink Cartridge weigh? i.e. 343?
A cartridge is considered empty at 30% remaining ink.
Your cartridge is empty if it weighs in below 33 grams, Full your cartridge weights in at 40grams, 45 in foil. It is a 7 cc cartridge, however ink is slightly denser than water and weights more per cc.How heavy does an EMPTY HP ink Cartridge weigh? i.e. 343?
VERY little less than when full as the majority of ink tanks hold no more than about 20mm or so of ink, so that's about 20g of ink and the rest is cartridge,How heavy does an EMPTY HP ink Cartridge weigh? i.e. 343?
sorry don't know but it will still rattle when empty if that is what you want to know

How do i know hp ink cartridge is low in ink?
my copies are coming out faint and blurred on the bottom third of the pageHow do i know hp ink cartridge is low in ink?
Try shaking the ink cartrige it self. If still not printing clearly i would suggest getting some new cartiges. How do i know hp ink cartridge is low in ink?
HP printers have software that allows you to view the ink levels. Go to Start%26gt;All Programs. Look for your HP software and you'll see it in the ';Printer Assistant';.
You are low on ink. Any time you see fading, your ink is low.
I'd say you're low on ink.
HP lately has software that purports to tell you when the ink is low, but I think it's an estimate based on how much the printer has been used since the last cartridge was inserted. I know my wife's printer ran fine for weeks after getting a low-ink warning, both on-screen and via an idiot light on the printer.
Interestingly enough, their cartridges used to be clear plastic so you could see how much you had left. Now they're dark black. Hmmmmm. Couldn't be a marketing trick to sell cartridges before they're actually needed, could it?
your cartrige is definately low in ink. some hp printers notify you when youre low on ink.
Don't know which model, so can't tell you how, but try cleaning the heads by whichever method it offers.

Is it worth it to buy the refill kits for my ink cartridges for my HP printer?
I've talked to some people who said they're fine, but other people told me they're nothing but a mess and not worth the hassle. Anyone ever try them, and how did it go???Is it worth it to buy the refill kits for my ink cartridges for my HP printer?
A 3rd option you might want to consider is to have a store refill your cartridge. Some outlets of Staples and Walgreens provide the service now. I didn't want to mess with the cartridge myself, so I figured I would leave it to the pros. For my cartridges, the cost of a refill was $10, while a new one would have been about 3 times more. It's certainly worth the try. I've only used the refill service a couple of times, but I'm satisfied with the output. One more thing to consider, many cartridges are recycled after use, and I assume that some of the cartridges are resold to consumers. In short, you might be using recycled cartridges already and just not getting the cost savings. Is it worth it to buy the refill kits for my ink cartridges for my HP printer?
That really does depend upon the type of cartridge/printer you have.. Some are worth it, some are not.
Keep in mind in order to refill you have to have a cartridges which is working very very well prior to refilling. You have to put exactly the right amount of ink in the cartridges and most cartridges will not last more than one or two refills even if they are in great condition.
most refill kits use universal inks which are good for a slew pf printers and models, this ink is prone to clogging and problems. A good refill kit is designed specifically for your cartridges. Not all ink is create alike.
If you are inclines to try it, there really isn't any harm, worse case scenario you are out a few bucks.
If you are looking for a no mess alternative to refilling ink I would suggest getting a continuous ink system...it is equal to 61 cartridges of each color so the need to refill it is alot less often. They are easy to install and not messy at all...it took me about 5 minutes to get mine completely installed and when I need to refill it the tanks are outside of my printer so there is no need to remove the cartridges. The cartridges are also set with non-expiring chips so there is no need to reset the printer. I am very please with the quality of the ink also. It has saved me a fortune. The best place I found that has all printers is here http://www.printer-ink-cartridge-refills鈥?/a> Printer Ink Cartridge Refills and Continuous Ink Systems
Good luck and happy printing :-)
Use the right refill ink made for your printer. Full instructions usually come with them. The important parts of the process are
*don't touch the bottom where the print head is
*be very sure to plug up the filling hole VERY tight otherwise the ink pours out at the bottom.
You can't refill dozens of times, as the print heads wear out. But it's a big saving while the printing comes out ok.
It is especially useful if you run out of one colour but would have to replace all of them (3-in-one cartridges).
I did a bulk pamphlet printing job once for which we bought the ink wholesale in 1 pint bottles and had to refill twice a day. Huge saving and only the first 3 or 4 copies came out a bit smeared after every fill.
In my experience, anything using a needle syringe is automatically suspect. I've tried some on an old Sharp fax. That one worked beautifully until the machine itself died. I've also tried it on my Deskjet 500C (yes, that still works!) but that didn't work so well.
What I've found that works most of the time is the Data Products refill kit in Office Depot. This one uses small flat circular ink tanks and has a soda-can-sized infuser. For $20 or so you can refill a cartridge about 3 times. This one works much better than those syringe-type refills that involves drilling holes. Takes a bit more time, but far less messy.
I tried it, and it's just not worth the trouble. I buy refilled carts from Carrot Inc. and Rhino, and those work well 95% of the time. (They take back the empties, and replace any that fail.) The only downside is that your onscreen ink level monitor probably won't work, but if you keep spares on hand that's not really a problem.
Hi...
On my opinion, I think buying a cartridge is better than refilling an old one. The old one can get damaged and the refill kits may not put your computer at its best..
this is only my opinion.. by the way, check the warranty contract thingy... ^^

Do you have an HP printer and have used refilled ink?
i refilled my black ink cartridge at Walgreens because my printer said it was low on ink. When I realized the great deal it had on ink refills I decided to get mine refilled. Then when I put the cartridge back in place in my HP printer it still says it's low of ink.
Have I been rip-off and my cartridge was not refilled?
Is my ink still low or was it really refilled? Was the ink status on my printer wrong?Do you have an HP printer and have used refilled ink?
Refilled or remanufactured cartridges are great - that's all I use with my HP Printer. I think the issue you are having is that your printer may not recognize the correct ink levels because it is holding the memory from the previously used cartridges. However, a printer reset should resolve the recognition problem. To reset your printer please follow these instructions: 鈥?Remove ALL cartridges 鈥?Turn off printer 鈥?Unplug the printer from the power source for a full 5 minutes 鈥?Reverse steps. Plug back in, turn on printer and install all cartridgesDo you have an HP printer and have used refilled ink?
With some HP ink jets the printer is looking for a different inkjet cartridge serial number before it will clear the ink low message. Some even keep track of the last five serial numbers so you can't reuse them.
This is a way on the part of HP to keep you from just refilling the same cartridge over and over and never buying anymore of their high priced cartridges.
Have you checked your manual or the HP website? I'm not sure about your HP printer, but I know that some Epson printers require you to hold or press buttons on the control panel in a particular order to tell it that you replaced the cartridge before the ink out message will reset.
If it just says ';ink low'; and not ';ink out'; and prints fine I would continue to use it until the cartridge runs out of ink.
I always buy / recommend HP printers so I have seen and used a lot of them. I always buy genuine HP ink - maily due to bad experiences with refills and clone cartridges.
I have found that it may save a few bucks - but you pay for it in hassle.
Dont use refills.Big mess and it sux.myspace-quizzes

How can you check how much ink is in a HP Deskjet F335 printer?
Two ways one is through the software (unless you disabled this) I have a Deskjet F340 and usually everytime I print something it pops up showing me my estimated ink level the other go to control panel then printers locate your printer then right click choose properties then printing preferences and now go to services. How can you check how much ink is in a HP Deskjet F335 printer?
There might be a setting in Printers. Go to Printers, click on your HP printer icon and see if it opens a box with different tabs. One of them might show you ink levels. If double clicking on the icon doesn't bring up that box, then right click and see if you see anything.

Can I scan with my HP deskjet F4280 all in one printer when there are no ink cartridges in it?

That is how most AIO printers work. Even though no ink is required, it will not funnction without it. I am not saying this is good, it's just how it is.Can I scan with my HP deskjet F4280 all in one printer when there are no ink cartridges in it?
Not sure if this will help, but thought you might want to give it a shot.
1.HP all-in-one turned off. Unplug the USB cable from the computer, then unplug it from electricity. Wait one minute, then plug it back in.
2.Open the case. Where you opened it to remove those ink cartridges.
Now close the case, and be sure it's latched down all the way.
3.Plug the all-in-one back into electricity. Plug it into the computer.
4.Wait one minute. Turn the all-in-one on. Wait one minute. Try to scan.
5.If this doesn't work, go to Start%26gt;Hover your mouse cursor on All Programs, (Or if you have Vista, wherever your programs are listed),
go to the right, and find HP All-in-One. Go to the Scan feature.
Use this to start scanning.
6.If that doesn't work. Turn the all-in-one off, unplug it from the computer, then from electricity. Clean the ink cartridges off, if you still have them, (The brass strip side. You want to clean any dried ink off, so that it doesn't somehow clog the little holes, in the all-in-one itself. You can use a warm water, Damp, clean, lint-free cloth for this. You should also clean the all-in-one, so that it's holes won't be clogged when you install the new cartridges), and re-install them. (Make sure they're dry)
7.Plug into electricity. Plug the USB cable back into the computer. Turn the all-in-one back on. Try it.
Edit: Yeah, that's what I thought. Some Yank confirmed it. You need those ink cartridges to complete an electrical circuit. Some Yank's answer is better than mine. I would advise, cleaning the brass strip on the All-in-One, where the ink cartridges go. (ALL-IN-ONE UNPLUGGED from electricity!!) You don't want those microscopic sized holes, getting clogged with dry ink.

I have an HP printer and my model will let you print using the black cartridge only. I have not got mine set up at the moment so I can't go in to it to get the exact instruction but I think you go into preferences on the print menu. Then try the maintenance link at the top. There should be something like ink cartridge settings on it. If so click on it and then a menu come up and you can select black only. Black and colour. Color only. 1. Check if you properly reinserted the cartridge. Try removing and reinserting again. Be sure not to touch the circuitry and printhead of the cartridge.
2. Did you touch the copper circuitry of the cartridge? If so, you may have damaged the cartridge via static discharge. In that case, you must replace the cartridge.

i recently got a new desktop computer and now the printer that i have isn't compatable with it. I'm not sure but I think it's because my new computer has the new vista system and I heard that computers with the new vista system won't be compatable with old hardware, such as printers and scanners. Pawn shops, electronic recycling depots. Hp is very good about updating the drivers for their older printers. Just check their website to see if the printer model you find is supported.
The older HPs that take those mammoth cartridges are highly desirable. We sold them for awhile in our stores (InkJet sales) however quickly ran out of stock and places to get them from.

You don't, you just continue to print and ignore the low ink warning.
HP printers remember the electronic signature of the cartridge, thus it remembers it when you re-install it. There is no way around this, it is a function built into the printer itself. How do you reset the ink level on an HP DeskJet F4140 all-in-one?

Try this, turn off your printer re insert your ink cartridges. Do it until
your printer response a charging.
look on the net for a program as far as I know there is nothing built into the printer

I have a Hp photosmart printer. The black ink is 20 ml. How many papers can we print out?
How many papers can we print out before we have to by another one. We are not heavy printing people.I have a Hp photosmart printer. The black ink is 20 ml. How many papers can we print out?
I have an HP all-in-one, and i print lots of black. I usually use the lowest setting (economy), but I would guess I get probably 200 pages, you'd probably get 150 on normal, and 100 on best (these are all guesses) Talking just text on these pages.I have a Hp photosmart printer. I'm afraid there is no exact number, because it is all dependenet on how much ink is used per page.myspace-quizzes

Refilling your own HP Ink Cartridges. Is it easy to learn? Anyone doing this?
I'm spending $70 to $100 per month on cartridges. This is crazy. I see kits for sale on the internet. Would like to hear from someone knowedgeable on this. Thanks.Refilling your own HP Ink Cartridges. Is it easy to learn? Anyone doing this?
Most HP cartridges are very easy to refill. If you have a newer block style cartridge you will simply just peel back the label and inject the ink in to one of the 5 holes on top.
You will want to make sure you are keeping the cartridge is very good condition, this includes running print head cleanings every 3 weeks. This frees up any debris that get caught in the print head.
Remember that cartridges are designed for single use and the electronics and print head will break down. With a newer style cartridge you will be lucky to get 3-5 refills out of one cartridge.
Also be advised that HP has installed a memory on it's newer printer, it will most likely not fully recognize the cartridge as full or a new cartridge, rather you will have to deal with not having an ink level indicator and constant pop ups that your cartridge is low.
You can beat the memory by gathering a collection of 3-5 cartridges and installing them one by one, and the end of the queue install the refilled cartridge. This will most likely reset the printers memory and it will think the refilled cartridge is in fact a new cartridge.
Also make sure you are purchasing a kit designed for you printer, newer models use a high purity ink that is a very light dye based black. A thicker darker ink will clog the cartridge immediately preventing it from working. This is also important to getting the most accurate instructions.
good luck. Make sure that you allow the cartridge to stand for about an hour before installing to ensure that it is not leaking.Refilling your own HP Ink Cartridges. Is it easy to learn? Anyone doing this?
u can purchase this type of kit from the open market. its very cheap and u can refill easily.
Actually, here in the Philippines piracy and resourcefulness is being practiced..we only spend about 400 to 500 pesos for the ink and refill the empty cartridge for yourself. all you need is a syringe and the ink..very simple..
What kind of HP is it that you're trying to refill?
If it's an inkjet, any $10-$20 kit will do (although the cartridges themselves can be a bother to open), but if it's a laser printer, I think you'd be better off doing a web search for getting what you need at a ';bulk buy'; discount.
Frankly, I don't think it's worth it to even refill your own cartridges if using an inkjet because of the mess, the extra wear and tear on your printer heads, etc. I was lucky enough to find a local distributor in my home town that sells ';already refilled'; cartridges for $10 each (2 black for $10 or 1 triple color for $10). I'm sure the price varies by product, but they are the best deal in town as far as I could find. Their name is USA Toners %26amp; Cartridges, Inc. and they're located in San Diego, California.
Good luck.

Does HP offer a dye-based ink cartridge to use with my PSC 1610 printer?
HP tech support chat is a joke! My initial question will show in the chat window, but any other questions I have will not show so no one can give me a yes or no answer to my question. Dye-sublimation printers use different technologies than regular ink jet printers. (I assume the PSC 1610 is an ink jet.) You would have to upgrade, rather dramatically, to get the resolution and quality from that other technology.

Does anyone use 21 and 22 ink cartridges for an HP Deskjet printer?
.My question is, can these cartridges be refilled and, what do I have to do to be able to refill them If they Can be refilled?Does anyone use 21 and 22 ink cartridges for an HP Deskjet printer?
what he saidDoes anyone use 21 and 22 ink cartridges for an HP Deskjet printer?
All printer manufacturers advise against refilling. It stops the printer detecting how much ink you have and can also damage your printer.
When a printer is turned in for a repair under warranty, the first thing looked for is evidence of refilling
There are refill kits online and at the store, but it's an at-user risk whereas if the cartridges damage the printer, the warranty is voided for maintenance. You can order the cartridges online which is cheaper than the store.

How to configure hp printers to use generic ink (hp psc 1410)?
It is NOT POSSIBLE to configure an HP inkjet printer to accept ANY generic ink, in the sense that your HP PSC 1410 must accept and recognize the ink cartridge(s) installed whether they are brand new genuine HP inkjet cartridges or generic remanufactured inkjet cartridges having the correct HP # designed specifically for your HP PSC 1410. Otherwise, ANY GENERIC INKJET CARTRIDGE simply would NOT work properly due to INCOMPATIBILITY and an error message would display which means you bought or attempted to install the incorrect inkjet cartridge and the computer chip cannot be tricked or bypassed...

鈥?Remove ALL cartridges 鈥?Turn off printer 鈥?Unplug the printer from the power source for a full 5 minutes 鈥?Reverse steps. Plug back in, turn on printer and install all cartridges

Looks like HP has a solution...you're not gonna like it:
You might find that some of the advanced features are no longer available when using this basic driver. You can upgrade to an HP product that is fully compatible with Windows Vista if the advanced features are necessary.
Seems like they're telling you to buy a new printer, huh?

Where can you purchase introductory ink cartridges for an hp photosmart 8250?
I purchased the printer ';as is'; so it did not come with the necessary introductory ink cartridges needed to complete the printer setup. The regular cartridges I purchased would not work.Where can you purchase introductory ink cartridges for an hp photosmart 8250?

They aren't ';introductory'; cartridges -- they are regular HP 02 cartridges that have the following: Black: 10ml; Cyan: 4ml; Yellow: 6ml; Light Cyan: 5.5ml; Magenta: 3.5ml; Light Magenta: 5.5ml;
Even if you bought the value pack of the 02, they're the same. Are you sure there's nothing wrong with the printer? Are you sure you inserted the ink tanks correctly? If there is a tab that you have to pull before you insert the ink tank into the correct slot, make sure you've done it.
Was the printer a ';demo'; that was used before (I ask this for three reasons: 1) if it WAS used before, maybe someone damaged it and the seller wasn't aware of that. 2) If it was used before and not damaged, I would know that all of the packing/security tape was removed and 3) If it wasn't used before, there may be tape INSIDE the machine, underneath or on the back of it that may not have been removed that's preventing it from working right.)
If you can eliminate all of the above IF's, you may have purchased a defective printer and would need to return it.
Hope this helped... post and let us know how you fare.

If you are looking for a introductory ink cartridges, it will be not available in any store because you will only receive the set when you buy the printer. If you have not given with the set when you purchased the printer.
The best way to get is to call HP Total Care 800-474-6836 and ask for the set because the ordinary trade cartridges start with C8 number where as introductory ink cartridges start with C9 and you will not get it any where.
If by Chance there is any problem with the printer they will sort it out for you.

How do I check the ink levels on a HP ColorLaserJet 2605dn?
on your start menu go to HP or Hewlett Packard.
There should be a sub menu with your printers model number listed. Select that.
Open the HP tool box and on the left hand side select supply status. This will give you the number of pages printer, estimated number of pages remaining as well as the estimated percentage remaining of each toner cartridges and your drum.

There is still ink left in my cartridges but the words that come out of my printer come out very lightly almost like there's no ink left.

Most printers usually come with cartridges to get your started. In the old days, you got some that allowed you print about 20 pages before they crapped out. Today, I'm sure you'll get full-capacity ones in the box.
Make sure you have paper. They don't give you that!
Yes but they wont be full! They will be ';sample'; catridiges which may last a few prints but not alot.
Also argos have a habit of NOT supplying a printer USB cable. You will need to buy one, but check the box before you leave.
ask in store before you buy, go getting a viewing, you can view anything before you buy from argos

It should come with a small amount of ink (probably not the full size like a refill). Just read the package to find out. It should list the contents.
Yes. It comes with a small kinda ';free sample'; one. Doesn't always have that much ink. So its always smart to buy an extra one.

By the way, before you buy, be sure and check the prices on those cartridges. There exists websites that will tell you the total cost of ownership for printers.I am planning to buy a HP deskjet F4280 printer from argos, would ink cartridges come with the printer?

Ink cartridges always come with ur printer but one one use after that u gotta buy ur own, iv worked in multiple electronic retail stores i gaurantee my answer
My HP 8050 Came with all cartridges inc a special colour one for photo's... (They are now low but they have lasted yonks!!)

Should I get new ink for my HP deskjet 656C or buy a new Lexmark Z611?
I want to connect a color inkjet printer to a computer for occasional printing out of web pages, rebate coupons, etc. Very light use, 2-3 pages a week.
I have an HP Deskjet 656c inkjet printer that hasn't been used much, but because of that the ink dried out so it needs new cartridges. It seems to work OK aside from that. I figure new ink in compatible (not OEM) cartridges is about $30.00. I have never used this printer, I got it from my son who didn't need it. It gets fair to middling reviews on the net.
OR... I could get a brand new Lexmark Z611 from Office Depot for $19.99 with free shipping. With tax, about $22.00. It probably comes with a starter ink cartridge that'll last me quite a while.
What should I do? Get ink for the HP or get the new Z611?
Answers from people who actually have one or both of these printers will be on track to get the ';best answer';.Should I get new ink for my HP deskjet 656C or buy a new Lexmark Z611?
HP i think is the better one out of the 2. I have an HP Deskjet 600 which was made in 1996 and it stills works great. I have a lexmark Z611 and the ink for that don't last long. My HP ink lasts much longer than the lexmark. I do a lot of color printing and the HP lasts around 75-100 pages more than the lexmark. The lexmark also prints very slow.
The ink for the HP is more than the lexmark but the HP lasts longer. But with me i only use the color ink. which is 34.00. and just using one lasts me a long time.Should I get new ink for my HP deskjet 656C or buy a new Lexmark Z611?
Set your ink cartridges in warm water or alcohol solution over nite, then carefully pat the bottom of cartridge (don't run) reset and it should work, the solution will or should clean the print heads. I do this all time on HP when I haven't used it awhile. As to the Lexmark--you get what you pay for--I been that route too and that is why I stay with HP. Good Luck
both of the printer , will give you same problem in the future, all your ink cartridges will dried up, why not buy a laserjet printer it is more economical in the long run and the toner will not dry up just shake it well after long storage or non usage.

How can I refill my Hewlett Packard HP printer ink?
Glock is funny, they have refill instructions at this site, along with places to get very cheap kits - like $3 http://howtorefillhpink.tripod.comHow can I refill my Hewlett Packard HP printer ink?
I use www.ldproducts.com for my HP printer. You can buy a new cartridge, a refilled cartridge, or a refill kit. If you don't mind a little messiness, refilling is a very cost-effective way to go, but there is some risk involved of leaking ink. However, I have been doing it for years with no problems. LD has very helpful instructions, fast shipping, and good prices. And no, I'm not affiliated with LD in any way!How can I refill my Hewlett Packard HP printer ink?

It would be less messy if you just refilled the cartridge instead of the whole printer.
Cleanest and highest quality way is to buy a new cartridge.
Cheapest and chanciest way is to get a refill kit.

Re-filling an ink jet is a common thing in practice,
and can be done by any normal person with little logic and skill.
using a disposable syringe and pumping ink via a small hole located at topside below sticker is the way.
I don't think it is good idea to refill color cartridge. Matching Ideal colors needs skilled choice of colors and expertise.
any good open branded ink like Image king are enough. To give good Result For ';Black';. Black ink generally used more than color.
Filling the ink immediately before it's Nozzles are still wet, give more ';Success Rate';.
HP-D1560 is user friendly Nothing to fear.
with sufficient information and knowledge task may be still easier.
In case of certain brands like Epson Inbuilt chip will not function when a general user did refiling. How can refill ink to hp deskject D1560 printer?
You can refill ink cartridges yourself or take them to a store to get them refilled, but keep in mind that you take a big risk for many reason.
It is not rocket science to punch a hole in a cartridge and to inject an inferior ink into the cartridges. Remember that you get what you pay for.
Most often the case, you simply do not get the quality print when you refill the cartridge yourself. The manufacturers (HP) in your case has a specific blends of ink and the color of ink used for that particular printer cartridge is different than that used in another inkjet printer. Therefore you will likely have poor quality prints.
Another major factor is that you may get ink spills into your printer and damage your printer internally.
You will almost always get a lower page yield per cartidge. For instance. A new cartidge may give you 200 pages per cartidge. Your refill may only give 85-90 pages if and ONLY IF IT EVEN WORKS.
Also, many printer cartridges have chips on them. The printer will often reject the cartidge even after you refill it.
The moral of refilling yourself is not as easy as it sounds. Yes some people have good results, but likely you will save money in the long run from leaving it to experts with the proper equipment.

66 boxes of hp ink and toner. Contacted hp they want reciepts(don't have them) Would anyone or company that you know would buy them from me? They are cluttering my house. I dont want to give them away since I know they are worth something. My friend left me 66 boxes of mostly hp toner/ink.What the heck do I do with it?
if there is nothing wrong with them %26amp; you are 100% certain they are not stolen property, then I suggest selling them on ebay.My friend left me 66 boxes of mostly hp toner/ink.What the heck do I do with it?
Not to be funny but setup and ebay account, sell it ship it... Let the person who want the carts, battle it out for top price. Snap a picture and post it. Some of those carts go for as much as $200 if they are HP brand. The winner will also pay shipping and handling. Sell them one at a time or as a group. here is a link that will help you get started.

I second the ebay idea. Someone somewhere will say, ';Yes, he's got the exact toner carts I need - deal!'; It's likely the best bet to unload them quickly. If you tried to sell them this way a couple of times on eBay without success...well, the market has spoken: They're not worth selling so take them to a recycler or bin them.

Dont use refills.Big mess and it sux.

Any way to completely stop my HP printer from wanting to calibrate after a new ink cartridge is installed?
This is my pet peeve. When I install a new cartridge it prints out the calibration sheet no matter what I do -- even when I indicate I have one. It is offensive that the company that produces and sells the ink forces you to use it this way -- and in color, yet! Can I make this go away -- forever? Is this the same with other companies? Maybe I should stop buying HP printers.Any way to completely stop my HP printer from wanting to calibrate after a new ink cartridge is installed?
Every time you switch your ink cartidges, your heads become misalligned, so if it dosen't do a calibration sheet, your images come out with the colors off center (it looks a little like ghosting on a television), every printer will do something similar, even on professional box printers (like cereal boxes), they have to have a calibration test, those are what those odd multicolored blocks are when you open a box, to calibrate the printer, if you want a good print out, it is required
And it's only when you install new ink cartriges, one peice of paper an the little ink it uses is nothing, you probably put more abuse to the ink by printing out a web page, or printing out anything for that matter, you should be happy that it's even calibrating so you don't come out with a horrible looking print outAny way to completely stop my HP printer from wanting to calibrate after a new ink cartridge is installed?
No, it's supposed to, as new printheads are supposed to be calibrated. It uses so little ink any way... not worth the peeve time. :)
This annoys me to no end, too. Try shutting the printer off before or right when it asks you if you have the calibration sheet. I'm not sure if it works or not, but it can't hurt.
Sorry, by default it has to print the calibration sheet. Without it your pictures will not come out the best quality they can be.myspace-quizzes

Does the HP C5180 printer use an abnormal amount of yellow ink compared to the other colors?
My yellow is already out and the other colors are barely used.Does the HP C5180 printer use an abnormal amount of yellow ink compared to the other colors?
If you look at the volume of ink on the sides of the cartridges when you buy them you will see that they all contain different amounts of ink.
You will also find that the lowest volume cartridges are the yellow, light magenta and light cyan, with 1-2 fewer ml of ink than the cyan and magenta cartridges.
The printer is not using more yellow ink, HP is just ripping you off by selling that particular cartridge in a lower volume than the rest.Does the HP C5180 printer use an abnormal amount of yellow ink compared to the other colors?
It really depends on what color it needs to print, for example orange requires red and yellow, A lime green requires blue and yellow combination. The darkness or brightness of the color depends on which one gets used the more.
The use of a color wheel could aid in answering what color would get used the most.

Why does HP want you to send the spent ink cartridges back to them on their dime?
Think why would a company spend alot of money to print and buy envelopes to package with the new ones if they didn't need to.Why does HP want you to send the spent ink cartridges back to them on their dime?
It's called being environmentally conscious.
HP isn't the only co. that does this...some empty toner cartridges can be returned to some large office supply companies. Why does HP want you to send the spent ink cartridges back to them on their dime?
Cheaper to refurbish or sell the units to off brand companies who refurbish them. There is a big market for re-manufactured or refurbished ink cartridges.

Would an HP 15 Ink Cartridge work in a Canon i90?
I bought an HP 15 instead of a canon 15 ink cartridge, would it work with my canon i 90 pixma printer?
thanksWould an HP 15 Ink Cartridge work in a Canon i90?
Probably not. The cartridges are designed for only one printer model. The fact that they are both a model ';15'; does not mean thye have anything in common.Would an HP 15 Ink Cartridge work in a Canon i90?
No, you can not use HP 15 for your canon pritner. The design is different, your printer can not recognize this cartridges.
You can buy new compatible Canon 15 cartridge, which is cheap and reliable. They provide one year warranty.

Definitely not. Each printer manufacturer programs their printers and ink cartrige chips differently. So there is no way they will work.

Having a problem after replacing my ink cartridge in my HP Photosmart C5280?
Since I replace the cartridge the printer will not work. I have a message on the printer screen that says Printer Cartridges ';refer to printer documentation';. I have spoken with HP twice and was even sent a new printer. Once I recieved it and put in my cartridges from my old printer, it did the same thing.Having a problem after replacing my ink cartridge in my HP Photosmart C5280?
Given that the ink cartridges won't work in either printer I'd guess that those cartridges are defective. I'd suggest you ask HP to replace them, or try returning them to the store where you purchased them.Having a problem after replacing my ink cartridge in my HP Photosmart C5280?

There are several places that will refill your ink cartridges. Do a google search on refilled printer cartridges and see if you can locate one in your area. Walgreen's does it here, but I think it is pretty common in some of the office supply stores in the larger cities.
Not sure about the HP 7260 specifically, but I've found Maplin are very cheap on most HP inks. eg for my HP3822 the colour ink was 拢10 cheaper than anywhere else.

i want refill its colour and black ink carideges to hp deskject d 1560 printerHow can refill ink to hp deskject D1560 printer?

My friend left me 66 boxes of mostly hp toner/ink.What the heck do I do with it?

Dont use refills.Big mess and it sux.

Color only. Not all printers from the same manufacturer are the same as I have two different Canon printers as well and one has the facility to use just the black cartridges only and the other does not. My HP Photosmart C4280 prints like there is no ink left when there is?
There is still ink left in my cartridges but the words that come out of my printer come out very lightly almost like there's no ink left.
I have been refilling those cartridges rather than buying new ones, so maybe it's time to buy some? Or maybe this is something else, like the print head is broken or damaged?
Let me know what you think. Thanks. My HP Photosmart C4280 prints like there is no ink left when there is?
You may want to try increasing the print quality to ';best';. This should help to prime the nozzles. If this doesn't work, I'd highly recommend that you replace the ink cartridges. My HP Photosmart C4280 prints like there is no ink left when there is?
Many teens are gradually destroying their printers by refusing to replace their cartridges. Instead they refill them and printer manuals specifically advise against this.

Yes. All printers include ink cartridges.
By the way, before you buy, be sure and check the prices on those cartridges. There exists websites that will tell you the total cost of ownership for printers.I am planning to buy a HP deskjet F4280 printer from argos, would ink cartridges come with the printer?

Where can I purchase ink (HP 20) online for a low price?
The printer i have is HP Deskjet 648C. i only need to purchase the black ink. i would like it to be free shipping. also the site need to be reliable because i'll be using my friend credit card. also i would like some info on refills and where u guys purchase your ink.Where can I purchase ink (HP 20) online for a low price?
Your HP-20 Black Inkjet Cartridge costs $29.99 @ HP website [Free Shipping], %26amp; $29.87 @ Wal Mart. [Free ';Store-To-Store'; Shipping].
Walgreen's generally do a good job with their refilling, %26amp; they will refill the HP-20 for $10.00.
Your HP-20 Black holds 28 ml of ink.
*Conversion Note: 1 Gallon {Ink} ='s 3,784 ml.
If you consider starting to refill your own Inkjet Cartridges, there are many websites that will help you get started; I will list three of them in the sources box; you can also search for ';Inkjet Cartridge Refilling';.
%26lt;PrinterInkWarehouse%26gt; sells a ';Starter-Kit';; it contains all four colors [Black, Yellow, Magnetta, %26amp; Cyan], two syringes, instrustions, pictures, %26amp; toll-free Tech assistence; the cost is ~ $30.00.
I have been refilling my own HP Inkjet Cartridges for ~ 4 months now; the cost of buying my cartridges - new -:
HP-21 Black [05 ml ink]; ~ $16.00
HP-22 Tri-Color [05 ml ink]; ~ $19.00
HP-15 Black [25 ml ink]; ~ $30.00
HP-78 Tri-Color [19 ml ink]; ~ $35.00.
It cost me ~ $1.00 each to refill my HP-21 %26amp; 22.
It cost me ~ $1.75 each to refill my HP-15 %26amp; 78.
If you do start refilling your own Inkjet Cartridges, the two most important things I could say [ %26amp; there are others] are:
01. Use the correct ink. Your HP printer will need to use
';Pigmented'; Black; NOT Dye-Based or [so-called] Universal Inks. [NEVER USE UNIVERSAL INKS].
02. Do Not Overfill - Refill to ~ 80% only - no more.
This is especially true when refilling ';Tri-Color'; cartridges ; overfilling will result in ';Cross-Contamination'; - the colors will not print correctly.
If you refill a HP cartridge, you're ';Estimated Ink Levels'; will show zero ink - you're printer will print fine. This is just another attempt, by HP, to discourge refilling [They have embeded serial numbers in the copper conductors - Strips A HP printer ';Remembers'; the last two cartridges in the printer] - there are ways around this - to where your ';Estimated Ink Levels'; will show correctly - this information can be obtained @ below listed websites, or you're welcome to ';IM'; of E-mail me.
Good Luck,
Ken C.

Good Luck,
Ken C.

How do you change an ink cartridge that is stuck on a HP f4180?
I have an HP deskjet F4180printer and the ink cartridges are stuck because I put them in the wrong slots. Any idea on how to remove them? I need answers fast because I have a report due TOMORROWHow do you change an ink cartridge that is stuck on a HP f4180?
The user manuals don't cover problems like yours. I would suggest that you do the following per the owner's manual.
Make sure your printer is ON.
Open the cartridge door
Wait until the cartridge moves to the center position. If it doesn't, turn the printer off, then back on.
Press down on the front of the cartridge, then pull it toward you
Remove the cartridge.

How do I find the ink level on hp printer?

If it's a genuine HP cartridge, esp. black ink, just take it out and look, as usually it's transparent.

My HP All in one has a popup that tells approxamatelly how much ink is in catridge.
If it came with hp toolbox software check that or print out a printer info sheet by actually pressing the buttons on your printer (if it has buttons) or by opening the print specs.
What model printer is it?
You haven't mentioned which printer model, however, you may check the below links and it will give you the information that you are looking for :)

if you have the HP solution center on your desktop go to that and go to printer settings and click toolbox. In toolbox there are tabs on the top and in printer maintence or something like that there is a tab for estimated ink levels. click on that and it will say.
Do that with the printer on and connected to the computer.

How can I print metallic ink from my HP Photosmart printer?
Do I need a special ink catridge and if so, where can I find it? Or do I need a different printer? How can I print metallic ink from my HP Photosmart printer?
Looks like you will need a special printer. Go here for more info and resources.

Ink jet printers don't have metallic ink. No computer printer does that I'm aware of.
The only printers that have it is, printers at a print shops.
You can make your own receipt if you really have to have it but it's very expensive.
Just go to a print shop and have them mix up three different batches of ink.
Magenta, cyan and yellow is the color you need.
What they do, is mix each color with metallic silver.
After you get your ink, you have to get some ink thinner because real printers ink is really thick.
When you add thinner to each color, you have to mix it in until the ink runs like water.
After that, you need to use a needle and plunger to inject it into your ink cartridge very slowly and try not to spill any in the other colors chambers.
When you print something out on gloss paper, it is cool looking.
It looks almost like a 3D image. It's a real trip.
some kind of the printers in hp supporting that but you'll have to change the black cartridges by photo cartridge for your printer.
beside hp... any printer has photo magenta and photo cyan will be able to print you the metallic color but it doesn't depend on the printer it self .. it depends also on the software you're using .. not any software ables to print mettalic..

You can't. Hp printers are designed only to print a dye based inks. They are very viscous and able to pass through a fine print head. There are no metallic inks on the market that are designed to do as much. Most metallic commercial printing is done using a printing press, or is embossed

Ink for my old HP Photosmart printer is expensive. Is ink for new Photosmart printers still just as high?
Or could I find less-expensive ink if I bought a new printer?Ink for my old HP Photosmart printer is expensive. Is ink for new Photosmart printers still just as high?
ink for almost all printers has gone up tremendously, some more than others. You might find it cheaper to buy a new printer than to get ink for yours.
I recommend Epson cx series scanner/copier/printer (cx7400/cx8400) because of the print quality and the warranty. For a year Epson will express-ship a replacement and pick up the old one. Ink cartridges are expensive, but you can get cheap replacements for $5 which work well here http://ccs-digital.com/ink.asp
You can find the printers at buy.com, usually in the $60-$70 range BEFORE any rebates, if applicable.Ink for my old HP Photosmart printer is expensive. Is ink for new Photosmart printers still just as high?
HP ink is just expensive by default. They know they can charge you that much, so they do. Even third-party ink is somewhat costly.
I would recommend either getting refillable ink cartridges and then getting some good ink bottles to keep refilling them or just getting a Brother or Canon printer - third party ink cartridges for those get as cheap as $2 each.
