The price listed for that product is $31.99, which is what I commonly pay for at retail stores. Is that price before the $10 instant saving or after ?

Unfortunatley it is after. If you are looking for an cheaper alternative, have you thought about trying refilled HP ink cartridges? There are hundreds of websites out there that offer these, and typically they are at least 30% cheaper than the originals. It's all I use, and I've never been disappointed. Just be sure the place you buy them at has a 100% guarantee. There is a defect rate of at least 5% in most cases -- so you want to be sure that you can get a no-charge replacement sent to you if your cartridge doesn't work.
